This module introduces educators to the basics of phonics through a simple, structured, and engaging approach. It focuses on helping children build early reading skills by exploring the sounds of the English alphabet, especially vowel sounds, before moving on to consonants.
Educators will learn how to teach two-letter word structures (CV and VC), and how to guide young learners in blending sounds to form and read CVC words and simple sentences. The session also highlights the importance of using multisensory methods such as picture cards, word cards, and sound chants to make learning more effective and enjoyable.
Ideal for early years teachers, this session offers practical strategies to support phonemic awareness and build a strong foundation for reading.
