As an individual when you flip the pages of your life, it would surely reflect the sparkling glow of the caring and nurturing relationship between your parents and your teachers. No one can afford to deny that if this partnership is strong, it would work as the ideal support system to develop a child’s learning ability. Not only this, but it also strengthens the parents’ capacity to be engaged in their child’s school-life experiences in a more effective manner.
It has been observed and appreciated the time and again that ‘The Three C’ formula is the key to success for every child. The formula comprises of Communication, Consistency and Collaboration.
The 3 Cs Formula
Do you think it is possible for students to have a bright future without timely communication from both ends? No, it is practically impossible. Similarly, if there is a break inconsistent work from both sides, no one can achieve the desired result. Last but not the least, collaboration holds this delicate structure together. These are the three pillars that construct a successful parent-teacher partnership.
The Birth of a New Philosophy of Education
Covid-19 came into the world and disrupted life as we knew it. Learning didn’t stop, but the conventional method of the teaching-learning process did undergo a major shift. In this scenario, the theory of the ‘Three Cs’ becomes more applicable and relevant than ever before.
While learning during this pandemic has been difficult, there are some things we have been able to achieve together –
• For many parents, learning behind the screen is like having a teachers’ help book.
• Noticing and observing the never-give-up attitude of the teaching community has given new respect to the teaching-learning relationship.
• Keeping an eye on learners throughout the lectures was a hidden dream for many parents and a road map for student growth.
• WFH has enabled parents to shoulder responsibilities more effectively, thus helping students make the most of this opportunity.
• Children are under the direct observation of both teachers and parents, the chances of them getting distracted are considerably reduced.
• Parents and even grandparents are working as facilitators for the teaching community, seeking their expert support in morning assemblies as well as other important events. They have even been invited as guest speakers to share their life experiences with students.
The pandemic has given an opportunity to parents and family get more involved in the learning process. As teachers, we all have been noticing diligent efforts from parents, grandparents, and even older siblings.
So, as a teacher, I can conclude without hesitation that this pandemic gave the teaching community a silver lining of unflinching support from parents. It created THE PERFECT CONCOCTION FOR LEARNING.
